NPR TINY DESK: BUDDY
BUDDY — NPR MUSIC TINY DESK CONCERT
January 9, 2019
Buddy wore a orange velvet durag designed by Khalida Ali for Anonymousplugs throughout his official NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert.
Filmed inside NPR’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, the intimate performance kept the durag clearly visible through close-up and full-performance shots. Its saturated yellow finish complemented Buddy’s brightly colored wardrobe matching the durag and became a consistent visual element across the nearly 12-minute presentation.
NPR featured the performance and accompanying imagery across its official platforms. Additional coverage from Billboard and The FADER extended the appearance to established music publications, giving the Anonymousplugs design a documented placement across multiple national media outlets.
Although the durag designer was not identified in NPR’s published production credits, the complete performance provides a clear visual record of an Anonymousplugs piece being worn throughout one of music’s most recognizable live-performance series.
