For the world premiere of AIR, the film’s lead costume designer, Charlese Antoinette Jones, commissioned Khalida Ali of Anonymousplugs to create a custom durag cape for her red-carpet look.
Inspired by the film’s signature typography and a holographic fabric reference supplied by Charlese, Khalida designed and constructed the one-of-one piece in approximately three days. The finished design paired a custom AIR durag with a dramatic, floor-length iridescent train—transforming the traditional durag into a statement red-carpet garment.
Charlese later spoke about discovering Anonymousplugs on Instagram and personally reaching out for the design in an interview with Complex. The feature directly credited Anonymousplugs and documented the creative collaboration behind the piece.
