NAS — “DEAR DESTINY”

CUSTOM DURAG COMMISSION
March 27, 2021 · 52nd NAACP Image Awards · BET

Anonymousplugs was commissioned through the production’s styling team to design and construct four custom durags measuring approximately 30 to 40 feet in length for the male performers featured in the televised version of Nas’s “Dear Destiny.”

The dramatically extended pieces appear during the film’s “Black excellence lives on” sequence, accompanying Nas’s narration about Black creativity, entrepreneurship, generational achievement and the enduring legacy of Black Wall Street.

Produced by UNINTERRUPTED, part of The SpringHill Company, “Dear Destiny” debuted on BET during the 52nd NAACP Image Awards. Although multiple edits of the film can be found online, the Anonymousplugs designs appear in the NAACP Image Awards broadcast version.
